Adult ballet class begins with a basic barre, including stretches. Center work includes port-de-bras, center barre combinations, pirouettes, adagio, petite allegro, and simple combinations across the floor – all in a relaxed and welcoming environment. All levels are encouraged to take class!
Felicia D’Amico Velasco
Alumna of The Washington Ballet in Washington D.C. In addition to dancing with The Washington Ballet, she also performed with The Washington Civic Ballet and The National Ballet. Felicia has over three decades of teaching experience, teaching children and adults of all levels and ages utilizing the Cecchetti/Vaganova method. In the late 1970s Felicia began teaching at New York Academy of Ballet and remained on faculty until the school closed in 1990. Felicia has taught at New York Conservatory of Dance, The International Pre-School, Marymount School of New York, and The Manhattan Ballet School. She brought classic ballet to Sokol New York in the 1990s and continues to teach weekly children and adult classes. Many of her students have gone on to dance with New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Carolina Ballet. Felicia is an active member of the national organizations Dancers Over 40 and Career Transition for Dancers.
